Noteworthy Characteristics
Miami is one of the largest growing Gardenia reaching up to 10 feet in height. This densely-foliaged shrub has shiny dark green leaves and displays a large abundance of fragrant white double flowers late spring and into summer. Sporadic flowering may occur into fall.
Uses
Excellent for use as a single shrub or tree form specimen, in small groupings, flowering shrub borders, natural hedge, home foundation plantings, espalier (grown flat against a wall), asian theme gardens, cottage gardens, and near sitting areas.
Culture & Care Tips
Prefers morning sun and afternoon shade, however, is known to handle more sun to full sun quite well. Loves heat. Can be grown in most soil types as long as they are well drained. Incorporate plenty of organic matter and/or soil planting mix when planting, especially in heavier soils and clay soils. Low to average water requirements.
